Carpentry all aspects
SPC LTD have qualified ’1st fix’ and ’2nd fix’ carpenters, the first fix usually refers to structural work, which is done before the plastering of a property. This would include building the wall studding, roof struts, door frames and floor joists, for example. The second fix carpentry is the finishing work, usually done after the plastering. This may be done by the same or a different carpenter and would include fixing architrave, window boards, floor boards and doors. We have recently constructed 2 x SIPs houses (Structural insulated panels) of which included several aspects of carpentry including structural Glulam beams with cassette flooring along with high quality 2nd fix carpentry.

Plumbing and heating services
SPC LTD can provide you the client with either a full new heating system or installation of a bathroom down to changing a tap service, Our plumbing and heating contractor has been working with and on behalf of SPC LTD to cover and install a wide range of domestic installations for many years.
SPC LTD contractor is a GAS Safe qualified domestic installer.
On arrival we will clear the room where the installation takes place under your guidance.
We will cover the existing substrate whether it’s the drive or internal existing floor finishes to protect against all materials and foot traffic.
Internally we will cover the floors with corrugated plastic sheets (Correx) to prevent the floor surface from any damage/scratches. All furniture will be moved to one side and covered with plastic or cotton dust sheets.
If we have skips on site we will endeavour to lay plastic sheeting and ply boards down under the skip to ensure that know debris leeks through on to your drive or finished areas.
If any structural works or knock throughs are going to be carried out then we will vacuum tight areas to aid the dust from travelling.
At the end of each working day SPC LTD will make sure all tools and materials are stored in a convenient place, and that you are satisfied with the condition of the room/ area that we have been working in whether inside or outside.
Stairs and landings will be protected if used for foot trafficking.
At the end of the project we will clear all rubbish and clean the finished working areas to a professional standard.
We will fill out a customer satisfaction report with you to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with our service and product, and only then we will collect the outstanding balance.

Why Choose A Shell-Only Build
The structure of a Shell-Only Build brings peace of mind – although it comes together as a Build quickly it meets all the required standards whilst allowing the client to have more influence and save costs on the internal fit-out which tends to have fewer key critical path tasks.
The Design Process
We will assist you with the planning right from the start of the project and then give you control of the elements of the project of which you feel comfortable and able to manage. Usually the portion which is passed to us, the contractor, is the drainage, foundations and main structure, universally referred to as the ‘Shell Build’
Shell-Only Builds are often very bespoke arrangements, so ensure yours is tailored to your needs (ie., include any interior structural work such as RSJs in a re-model/extension). Architect / Structural Engineer / Services Designer and Interior Designer and client all work together to ensure everything fits.
Internal trades like plumbers and electricians (M&E) may need an input into external works (eg., for services ducting) so it’s key that we discuss these implications when we discuss your Shell-Only Build. This ensures that this costing is incorporated from the outset.
There is no black and white approach to a Shell-Only Build - many projects consist of a hybrid of different procurement routes with main contractors, builders and your own DIY management involved (your mix of works and how you choose to proceed is of course reflective of how hands-on you wish to be in a project which will become your home/work/living space).
We will provide all resources to construct the Superstructure / Shell Build and provide you with a tailor made Definitions of Works for your Shell Build to a water and weather-tight stage under one contract.
The follow-on works are then procured directly as trade packages, or on a labour and material basis through to completion.
If you would like to be your own project manager and lead designer on your Build consider everything at the beginning when developing and procuring the Works - design and coordination decisions need consideration at the start of the process.
